About:
Queens Botanical Garden (QBG) is an urban oasis where people, plants, and cultures are celebrated through inspiring gardens, innovative educational programs, and real-world applications of environmental stewardship.

Visit with a Group:
Visit the Garden with your group or class to explore the wonders of nature up close through a range of interactive and hands-on activities. We invite you to visit the honeybee hives at the Bee Garden, go birdwatching in the Arboretum, or spend time enjoying the many scents of the Herb Garden – and more!


Lunch Notes

  • A covered area for lunch cannot be guaranteed, nor do we have an indoor cafeteria. We have benches dispersed throughout the garden as well as a covered terrace, available on a first-come first-served basis.
  • Weather permitting, your group may bring their lunch and eat in our crabapple arboretum (#23 on map), which is an open space, ideal for a picnic on the ground.

Bathroom Notes

  • Education building: two, single stall non-gendered bathrooms.
  • Both inside and outside of the Visitor & Administration building: two separate male female gendered bathrooms with multiple stalls for females and males in each.

Cancellation Policy

Payment:

  • Payment may be made by credit card, DOE Purchase Order, or check made payable to Queens Botanical Garden.
  • We do not accept payments on the day of your program.
  • Payment due dates are listed on your invoice and are typically due 5 weeks prior to the first program start date; if payment is not received by the invoice due date, Queens Botanical Garden reserves the right to cancel the program.

Rescheduling

  • Rescheduling is possible based on availability, provided you notify us at least 3 weeks before the date of your visit. There are no rescheduled trips within 3 weeks of the visit date. QBG reserves the right to postpone workshops and will work with groups to reschedule. Self guided tours can always be rescheduled.

Cancellations

  • If you must cancel your trip, please call as soon as possible. Please see below for our refund policy for cancellations. If you have scheduled a program within 6 weeks of the program date, reservations are non-refundable.

If cancellation occurs…

  • 6 weeks or more prior to 1st scheduled program: Full Refund
  • Within 3 to 6 weeks prior to 1st scheduled program: Refund, Less a $25 Processing Fee
  • Less than 3 weeks prior to 1st scheduled program: No Refund
  • Day-of or “no-shows”: No Refund

Field Trip

YOUTH OR ADULT TOUR: Self-Guided Tour (not available Mondays)

• Not available on Mondays when we are closed to the public.
• Self guided tours are free (unless an add-on is requested) from mid-December through March. Hours & admission info here: queensbotanical.org/hours_admission
• Title 1 discount does not apply

Explore Queens Botanical Garden at your own pace and investigate the specific exhibit areas that complement your needs and interests. Includes 10 adventure field guides, 10 pencils, and one QBG tote bag per group (only provided during paid season, April - mid-Dec). If you would like additional adventure guides for all participants, you may purchase for an extra $25 per group.

Upgrade with an optional seed planting kit add-on! One kit includes enough supplies for 30 participants to plant flower or bean seeds. The fee is $25 per group. Kits can be picked up at the visitor building and activity must be completed offsite, after your visit.

Please indicate if you would like either of the two add-ons when you complete the questionnaire booking form.
