Colorado Ballet Education and Community Engagement's mission is simple: Every. Body. Dance!

Every: to make dance accessible to everyone.
Body: to promote dance and movement as part of a healthy lifestyle.
Dance: to encourage creativity and expression through dance, and foster an appreciation for ballet.

Our programs reach a variety of students and families with different backgrounds across Colorado! Some of our learning experiences include:

-Weekly dance classes for students K-8 (30 min)

-Stand alone workshops or recurring residencies for students of all ages (15 - 60 min)

-Student matinees: students attend a professional Colorado Ballet production (23-24 season posted here)

-Live streams of our productions

Field Trip

Day of Dance

Day of Dance is a field trip available to students at all grade levels. Bring up to 150 students to Colorado Ballet's studios for a rotation of introductory classes in a variety of dance styles and tour Colorado Ballet's facilities, including the costume shop. Cost is approximately $7/ student

The day before a production’s premiere, the doors open for students to see the final dress rehearsal in the beautiful Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Student groups are invited to experience ballet first-hand, complete with full costumes, make-up, sets, lighting and sound!

Water Cycle Waltz

In this workshop students will dance their way through the water cycle. Students will learn about evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection all while exploring movement concepts like levels and flow. In this fun life skills workshop, participants will move through dance or movement explorations, activities, games, and choreography that challenge their brain. Ecosystems Embodied: Nature’s Choreography

In this partnership between Colorado Ballet and the Audubon Society you will dance your way through an ecosystem! In this workshop, students will learn about the different components of an ecosystem and how they are interconnected before creating their own unique dance to embody the various parts of an ecosystem. Students will utilize kinetic learning in order to better understand how each component fits into an ecosystem like a puzzle.

Hula Dance

The rhythmic dances of the Pacific Islands, Polynesian and Hula incorporate easy-to-perform dance movements set to the sounds of traditional Polynesian drum beats. Introduction to Brazilian music, history and culture. Bollywood
