Students will embody the phases of the moon through dance and movement games, helping them better understand nature’s predictable patterns by connecting it to the physical patterns experienced in dance.
Targeted toward 1st grade science standards. Adaptable for older students.
Colorado Ballet Education and Community Engagement's mission is simple: Every. Body. Dance!
Every: to make dance accessible to everyone.
Body: to promote dance and movement as part of a healthy lifestyle.
Dance: to encourage creativity and expression through dance, and foster an appreciation for ballet.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, Colorado Ballet has chosen to prioritize the safety of our students and shift our education to virtual platforms. However, our programs continue to reach a variety of students and families with different backgrounds across Colorado. Some of our learning experiences include:
-Weekly dance classes for students K-8 (30 min)
-Stand alone workshops or recurring residencies for students of all ages (15 - 60 min)
-Student matinees: students attend a professional Colorado Ballet production (20-21 season posted here)
-Live streams of our productions
-Assemblies: From the Page to the Stage!
-Day of Dance: field trip to our facilities (can be adapted to the virtual platform)
Our virtual classes, workshops, and camps will be provided via Zoom. This being said, a laptop, tablet, or smartphone will be required to participate. Links to Zoom classes will be sent prior to each event.
We also love to create new content to bring to your school! Contact us to find out how we can work together to integrate movement into your classroom - in-person or virtual.
