Women of Colorado

Designed to reflect the diverse population of the state, this program explores the achievements and contributions women have made to Colorado history, from Mary Cawker and Millie Booth of the Four Mile House up to the present day.
Presentations can be done in classrooms and take about 40 minutes.

Offered At

Four Mile Historic Park

Four Mile Historic Park is a 12-acre piece of country in the heart of the city. Home to the Four Mile House, Denver’s oldest standing structure, our mission is to educate a diverse community through experiences that promote the preservation, responsible interpretation, and enjoyment of Denver’s storied western heritage.

We offer standards-aligned field trips for groups both large and small, along with a Traveling Trunk program on subjects such as homestead life, Indigenous cultures, and Colorado women to bring the hands-on history to your school or library.

(We are closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays but are still available for field trips)
