The museum's Programs Coordinator will use scansion to discover the strict metrical structure of Poe's most famous poem, "The Raven", culminating in a dramatic reading of the poem and a look at one of his last and most mysterious poems, "Ulalume".
The Poe Museum is located in Richmond, Virginia, home town to Edgar Allan Poe, one of the finest writers of the 19th century. In his short life Poe revolutionized the horror story, invented the detective story, helped pioneer science fiction, and wrote brilliant poetry. The museum has the largest collection of artifacts related to Poe anywhere in the world on public display in its three buildings.
