One Room Schoolhouse

Description

With this living history experience, your students will take a trip back in time to the days of chalk, slates, and much stricter discipline in the one-room schoolhouse. Work through practical problems, arithmetic, tongue twisters, and more.

Offered At

Four Mile Historic Park

Four Mile Historic Park is a 12-acre piece of country in the heart of the city. Home to the Four Mile House, Denver’s oldest standing structure, our mission is to educate a diverse community through experiences that promote the preservation, responsible interpretation, and enjoyment of Denver’s storied western heritage.

We offer standards-aligned field trips for groups both large and small, along with a Traveling Trunk program on subjects such as homestead life, Indigenous cultures, and Colorado women to bring the hands-on history to your school or library.

(We are closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays but are still available for field trips)
