The Indigenous Peoples Traveling Trunk takes students through the important people and events that have shaped the lives of Native American’s living in Colorado and the surrounding areas. Students will view artifacts and other important objects from these different cultures.
Four Mile Historic Park is a 12-acre piece of country in the heart of the city. Home to the Four Mile House, Denver’s oldest standing structure, our mission is to educate a diverse community through experiences that promote the preservation, responsible interpretation, and enjoyment of Denver’s storied western heritage.
We offer standards-aligned field trips for groups both large and small, along with a Traveling Trunk program on subjects such as homestead life, Indigenous cultures, and Colorado women to bring the hands-on history to your school or library.
(We are closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays but are still available for field trips)
