The Tesoro Foundation seeks to create community-based events and educational programs designed to enrich and celebrate our cultural heritage. Our fort is an authentic adobe replica of Bent’s Old Fort, which was an international trading post along the Santa Fe Trail in the 19th century. Bent’s Fort was a political, social, and economic crossroads where people of diverse backgrounds came together to trade goods, ideas, religion, art, languages, and more. With this in mind, Tesoro seeks to not only delve into narratives rooted in Colorado’s multicultural history, but to also encourage visitors to make connections between the past, present and future.
