Description
The arts teach us to craft new, innovative ways to approach and handle situations in our day-to-day lives, all while broadening our beliefs and understandings. Our MACC programs located at the JCC including (but not limited to) Denver Children’s Theatre and In-School Workshops allow students of all ages to relish the creative process. We encourage and enable students to create and advance within a structured, nourishing environment, which benefits the child, as well as the educator.
Even our digital forms of learning are jam-packed with pictures and videos created by an artist. Trained teaching artists visit your classroom to facilitate art or theatre activities that integrate the arts into any subject matter. These workshops can serve as an introduction to a new concept/skill, a method to enhance learning, or as a tool to deepen understanding. Workshops are directly linked to the Common Core State Standards, Colorado Standards, and 21st Century Learning Skills.
The JCC Mizel Arts and Culture Center illuminates the human experience through creative and cultural programs in the performing, visual, and literary arts for the Jewish community and the community at large.
The Mizel Arts and Culture Center serves over 26,000 people a year through a variety of programs and events that serve a broad demographic of cultural patrons. We strive to produce, present, exhibit, advance, and preserve the arts, serving as a performance and exhibition venue and as an educational resource for people at every stage of life.
Our annual events include exhibitions, concerts, films, author appearances, theatrical performances, and literary and film festivals. Facilities include the luxurious 400-seat Elaine Wolf Theatre, the 100-seat Pluss Theatre, a rehearsal studio, clay and art studios, and space for receptions and lectures.
