Gore Place 42.372562° N -71.21097° W

Description

Gore Place is a 50-acre country estate situated in both Waltham and Watertown. Built in 1806, this property was owned by prominent Bostonians Christopher and Rebecca Gore during the Federal Period. Christopher served as Governor of Massachusetts, as well as United States senator; his property reflects the themes of refinement, politics, and work as evidenced through the mansion, his professional life, and the service and book publication of his butler Robert Roberts. Our field trips focus on these themes and how they relate to the present through hands-on activities, critical thinking, and visual thinking strategies.

Lunch Notes

During the warmer months outdoor lunch space is available in our events tent. Our grounds are always open dawn to dusk.

Bathroom Notes

Accessible bathrooms are available in both the Carriage House and inside the mansion.
