Description

City Growers uses urban agriculture to engage youth in experiential learning, nurturing a lifelong relationship to food, their health, and the natural world. We host field trips for youth at Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farms in Sunset Park, and at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Lunch Notes

Participant groups are encouraged to use the courtyard in front of BLDG 92 (called the “Forecourt”) where there are picnic tables and umbrellas, to enjoy lunch. However, on rainy days you will be responsible for making alternate accommodations. We unfortunately cannot host your group on the roof for lunch due to other programs and events occurring in our shared space.

Bathroom Notes

There are bathrooms (2-3 stalls in each) On the 11th floor of Building 3, where the farm is located. When the educators bring your group up to the farm they will offer a bathroom break on the way up, before the group walks up to the farm level.

Cancellation Policy

City Growers requires at least 2 weeks notice from the visiting group to cancel a workshop without penalty. Cancellations made by the visiting group within 2 weeks of a scheduled workshop require a cancellation fee of 30% of the total cost.

For weather-related cancellations: In the event of a thunderstorm, severe heat advisory, or other weather-related concern, we will reschedule the workshop without penalty. We have ponchos available for light rain. Please email info@citygrowers.org if you need to reschedule.
