Description

The Center for Jewish History provides a home to five organizations whose museum and special collections form the largest archive of the modern Jewish experience outside of Israel: American Jewish Historical Society, American Sephardi Federation, Leo Baeck Institute, Yeshiva University Museum, and YIVO Institute for Jewish Research. We offer two free and exciting education programs that connect students with the history of the world around them:

Our History Connection Program for grades 6-12 and undergraduates utilizes primary sources to offer students a unique opportunity to enhance historical inquiry, visual literacy, and critical thinking skills. Workshops utilize archival collections, rare books, and photographs to explore historical themes relevant to CCSS curricula: History of Migrations, the Holocaust, New York History, Women Studies, Jewish History, and Anti-Semitism.

Bathrooms are located on each floor of the Center's public spaces where class sessions will be held.

Cancellation Policy

Please be sure to cancel any and all sessions no less than 2 weeks in advance. All student visits are free with the exception of certain current exhibits (please inquire for details).

Teacher Professional Development workshops are $10-$15/session depending on the length of the session. Refunds will only be issued for cancellations up to 7 days before the advertised course date.
