Description

The mission of the Buttonwoods Museum / Haverhill Historical Society is to collect and preserve history, and to educate the community about Greater Haverhill's past and culture.
The Museum encompasses three historic buildings (the c. 1710 John Ward House, the c.1814 Duncan House, and the c. 1859 Daniel Hunkin Shoe Shop) as well as three exhibit galleries.
Buttonwoods offers programs for kids and adults on many different topics, including the histories of the Pennacook people and early European settlers, the shoe industry, and more!

Lunch Notes

During nice weather, we have quilts for outdoor picnics in the John Ward lawn. During fowl weather, space can be made for smaller groups to eat indoors. We do not sell food onsite; lunches must be brought.

Bathroom Notes

We have two, single stall bathrooms.
