The American Museum of Western Art is an art museum in downtown Denver. Our historic building displays a permanent collection of art that surveys the history of Westward Expansion. We make interdisciplinary connections through customized lesson and activity ideas that align with standards in the Arts, Social Studies, Reading Writing, and Communication, and Science. We offer FREE school tours for grades 3 and up, free parking downtown, and transportation reimbursements, as well as pre- and post-field trip outreach and teacher professional development workshops. Explore our historic timeline and easily adaptable lesson and activity ideas online: Education.AnschutzCollection.org.
The Museum does not have inside seating or storage for lunches. Republic plaza off of 16th Street mall is just a block away, or groups can walk to one of many nearby parks.
Accessible restrooms located on the ground floor of the building.
