Akron Children’s Museum is a vibrant space where play inspires exploration, creativity, and problem-solving.
Located in downtown Akron next to Lock 3 Park, the museum offers hands-on exhibits focused on Health and Wellness, STEM, Arts and Culture, and Community and Civic Engagement.
What is a Children's Museum?
A children’s museum is a special kind of museum designed specifically for kids and their families, where play and hands-on activities are central to the experience. Children's museums create environments where kids can touch, build, experiment, and imagine while learning at the same time.
Our Field Trips:
We welcome schools, community organizations, and homeschool groups to join us for a day of hands-on learning and exploration. Group discounts are available, and our friendly staff is here to help make your visit smooth and enjoyable.
Food and drinks are permitted in designated eating areas only, with cafeteria style tables and seating available for your group.
For additional dining options, the Lock Stop Cafe is located within the Lock 3 building and operates independently of the museum. We recommend checking Lock 3’s website for their current hours of operation and menu.
Restrooms are located just down the hall from the museum’s front desk. Both the women’s and men’s restrooms have multiple stalls, sinks, and changing tables.
The museum also offers a private nursing and changing room with comfortable seating, a sink, and a larger changing table for convenience.
A $50 deposit is required to secure your field trip reservation at Akron Children’s Museum. This deposit will be applied toward your total balance, which is due on the day of your visit. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation.
