Description

Abrons Arts Center offers innovative and transformational learning experiences for makers at all levels of creative development. Our progressive StudioLab model supports the uniqueness of New York City school communities with adaptability and collaborative practice. Students participate in an exchange with innovative artists, arts-workers, and audiences while unpacking the artistic process. Through the construction of meaningful responses, we encourage risk taking, make bold statements, experiment collaboratively, and embrace curiosity. Galleries are activated as social spaces at the Abrons Arts Center. Students gain access to contemporary artworks through guided exhibition workshops lead by professional artists. Field trip experiences include inquiry-led discussions and hands-on activities that promote visual literacy, cultural empowerment, and reinforce Common Core Standards.
