60-MINUTE TOUR
K-12 Grade - Up to 25 students and 5 adults
Special Education - Up to 17 participants (including students and adults)
Join us for an engaging tour that highlights our subway station and transit history. Preserved in time, Court Street Station was a real operating subway station from 1936-1946. In 1976 the station re-opened as the New York Transit Exhibit, and today is home to the New York Transit Museum. Your group will engage in hands-on activities and explore exhibits, objects, and vintage train cars currently on display. Along the way, you’ll hear stories about the evolution of public transportation through various exhibitions.
The New York Transit Museum is dedicated to telling and preserving the stories of mass transportation – extraordinary engineering feats, workers who labored in the tunnels over 100 years ago, communities that were drastically transformed, and the ever-evolving technology, design, and ridership of a system that runs 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Opening hours reflect the group tour schedule (Wed-Sat) and the Birthday Experience schedule (Sat-Sun). Please visit our website for the general public hours.
