Discover the variety of art found throughout New York City’s transportation system, including visual art, poetry, and music, through an immersive tour of the Museum’s exhibits and vintage train collection that explores the connection between public art and mass transit.
We are not booking virtual events or parties at this time.
Planning a remote holiday party, staff happy hour, or birthday party? Celebrate in subway-style! Museum staff will take you and up to 30 guests on a Zoom tour of the Museum, located in a 1936 subway station, followed by an activity of your choosing. Visit some of our favorite vintage train cars and hear stories about fascinating events and people in NYC history. Then, have fun with an activity that's right for your group.
The New York Transit Museum is dedicated to telling and preserving the stories of mass transportation – extraordinary engineering feats, workers who labored in the tunnels over 100 years ago, communities that were drastically transformed, and the ever-evolving technology, design, and ridership of a system that runs 24 hours a day, every day of the year. (Opening hours only reflect the group tour schedule. Please visit our website for the general public hours.)
