School Tour - Self Guided

Description

Self-guided tours are available to groups in grades Pre-K-5, middle school, high school and college. These tours are led by school teachers, homeschool parents, or a community group leaders. Anyone leading a self-guided tour is strongly encouraged to visit the Longmont Museum before their scheduled visit in order to make plans.
Groups of 10 or more must book their visit no less than two weeks in advance. Large groups are asked to divide into smaller groups with chaperones to closely supervise students in grades Pre-K-12. Please fill out and submit a Self-Guided Tour Request Form. You may also want to read “Art of Chaperoning” and “Guidelines for Museum Behavior.”

Offered At

Longmont Museum

The Longmont Museum was founded in 1936, and has moved to a variety of locations throughout its existence. Now located at 400 Quail Road, just east of Main Street in south Longmont, the Longmont Museum invites visitors to come and see our regularly changing exhibits, experience our education programs, and enjoy the views from our Longs Peak Room tower. Regional history, internationally-known artists, and explorations of culture are all part of the mix of exhibitions at the Longmont Museum. Permanent exhibits document the 14,000 years of human history in Longmont, and the people who helped to create this community. Special exhibits in our Main Gallery and in our Portal Gallery change frequently, so there is always something new to see. The Longmont Museum also has a variety of education programs for all ages. We have ongoing programs, such as our "Discovery Days" program for ages 2-6 and a caregiver, Thursday night Art & Sips for adults, and our annual summer camps for kids. We also offer programs in conjunction with our current exhibits, and programs for school groups.
