This day includes icebreakers, lunch and time for your students to interact with students from your cohort partner school. Two films, black enuf* and Delilah, created by filmmaker/artist, and Kansas City native, Carrie Hawks, will be screened. The films, both studies in identity using Hawks’ personal experiences, will lead students into a Storytelling Workshop developed and led by Kansas City Public librarian Jamie Mayo. The workshop includes writing exercises, opportunities to hone storytelling skills, story sharing and modeling of how to provide feedback.
