Living Lab: Totally Tide Pools (Grade TK)

Description

Students will learn about tide pools as a habitat and the animals that live there. Through up-close animal encounters, they will learn about their adaptations and how they can survive life on the rocks.

Preschool programs include an hour-long lesson and craft facilitated by the Living Coast Education Instructor per class. Fees include admission to animal exhibits and a provided lunch space with storage. Exact program schedule varies by group size. Maximum of 3 classes per day (96 students).

Living Coast Discovery Center

The Living Coast Discovery Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit zoo and aquarium located on the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Founded in 1987 as the Chula Vista Nature Interpretive Center, we have served the San Diego community for over 30 years. The Living Coast Discovery Center is home to many native San Diego species including sharks, fish, lizards, and birds of prey. Students will have the opportunity to visit our animal ambassadors and explore the Sweetwater Marsh through trail exploration.
