Description

High School Day at the Denver Film Festival is an all-day conference-style event for students and teachers in Metro Denver. The event takes place at the McNichols Building in the heart of Downtown Denver and will feature filmmakers from around the globe. Start the morning with a film screening and a conversation with its filmmakers, followed by workshops, both hands on and with professional filmmakers. The day concludes with a screening of high school short films and an awards ceremony. T-shirts and notebooks provided to your students. Register your troupe today to secure your spot for 2018!

The Denver Film Society is the premier film programming and cinematic education facility in the Front Range. With a beautiful venue on East Colfax which can accommodate over 350 patrons for screenings, lectures and special events, the Denver Film Society has been at the forefront of community engagement since its inception in 1978.

We encourage teachers to think of us as a one-stop shop for everything cinematic in Denver. We offer filmmaking classes in all aspects of film; from storyboarding to screenwriting and from production to editing. We specialize in film screenings of topics relevant to all areas of study, be they documentaries, foreign language films, narrative fiction, and much more. We can cater our screenings and have access to films that will meet your classroom needs, as well as provide conversation to deepen the context of your area of study. All of this is available to bring to your classroom to engage with your students in unique ways that support your curriculum.
