60-MINUTE TOUR
4-12 Grade - Examine the history of the New York City subway system through the lens of engineering, technological innovation, and problem solving. Learn about the evolution of transit from the construction of the subway to the design of train cars. Students will engage in hands-on activities and have the chance to brainstorm solutions to age-old transportation challenges.

The New York Transit Museum is dedicated to telling and preserving the stories of mass transportation – extraordinary engineering feats, workers who labored in the tunnels over 100 years ago, communities that were drastically transformed, and the ever-evolving technology, design, and ridership of a system that runs 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

We offer an array of FAMILY PROGRAMS which includes Transit Tots, Movers and Makers: Family Tour and Workshop, Junior Conductors: School Holiday Day Camp, and the Birthday Experience.
