60-MINUTE TOUR
1-12 Grade - Take a step into the past and experience life in NYC during the late 1800s-early 1900’s. Explore the museum’s immersive vintage train collection and learn about the individuals who contributed to the development and improvement of NYC public transportation. From inventors, construction workers, to civil rights activists, learn the stories of the people who helped shape New York City’s mass transit. This tour includes a mix of storytelling and inquiry- and object-based discussions and activities.

The New York Transit Museum is dedicated to telling and preserving the stories of mass transportation – extraordinary engineering feats, workers who labored in the tunnels over 100 years ago, communities that were drastically transformed, and the ever-evolving technology, design, and ridership of a system that runs 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

We offer an array of FAMILY PROGRAMS which includes Transit Tots, Movers and Makers: Family Tour and Workshop, Junior Conductors: School Holiday Day Camp, and the Birthday Experience.

NYC Public School: $250 per group
Private, Charter and non-NYC Schools: $300 per group
