The Bingham-Wagonner Mansion and Estate in Independence, MO is full of interesting local history.
The Bingham-Waggoner Mansion & Estate, sitting on over 19 acres near the Independence Square is truly a one-of-a-kind gem in Independence, Missouri. Near the Truman Presidential Library, Harry and Bess Truman's home, the 1859 Jail & Marshall's home, the National Frontier Museum, the Chicago & Alton Depot and the Vaile Mansion, the Bingham-Waggoner Mansion & Estate offers its own special look into an earlier era. This well preserved museum home, with more than 90% original furnishings, carpets and paintings, provides insights into the lifestyle of its wealthy 19th century residents.
The Mansion & Estate is open daily for walk in tours and for private events and rentals in addition to a variety of regularly scheduled public events.

The Bingham-Waggoner Historical Society is organized for the preservation and interpretation of this site. Its focus is to increase the understanding of the history of the Queen City of the Trails, as well as, to be an economic asset to tourism industry, generating interest and dollars while at the same time preserving its special identity.
The dedication and hard work of the members has culminated in a beautifully preserved home. Over the years, we have cleaned, polished and preserved the buildings and Waggoner Family possessions to bring them back to their original splendor. We have delighted in watching the transformation and look forward to sharing the experience of returning to the 1890's with you.
