Electric Poe Playwriting Workshop (In-School Residency)

Description

Led by a professional teaching artist, students will explore the historical events and cultural context that inspired Edgar Allan Poe. Using either The Masque of the Red Death, Premature Burial, or The Tell-Tale Heart, students will explore how the use of symbolism created a lasting impact on audiences across the eras.
Coterie Theatre's in-school residencies are customized to each classroom and adapted to the reading and writing levels of each student to ensure active participation. All residencies align with the Missouri and Kansas English Language Arts and Theatre Arts standards.
