Discovery Days is an early childhood program that encourages children ages 2 to 6 and their parents or caregivers to engage together in educational, hands-on art activities. When you attend Discovery Days with your child, you help them cultivate important school-readiness skills, such as language development, attention, concentration, fine-motor skills, emotional regulation, and play and social abilities. Attend a session that fits your schedule, no registration needed. Discovery Days is where play and learning connect!
The Longmont Museum was founded in 1936, and has moved to a variety of locations throughout its existence. Now located at 400 Quail Road, just east of Main Street in south Longmont, the Longmont Museum invites visitors to come and see our regularly changing exhibits, experience our education programs, and enjoy the views from our Longs Peak Room tower. Regional history, internationally-known artists, and explorations of culture are all part of the mix of exhibitions at the Longmont Museum. Permanent exhibits document the 14,000 years of human history in Longmont, and the people who helped to create this community. Special exhibits in our Main Gallery and in our Portal Gallery change frequently, so there is always something new to see. The Longmont Museum also has a variety of education programs for all ages. We have ongoing programs, such as our "Discovery Days" program for ages 2-6 and a caregiver, Thursday night Art & Sips for adults, and our annual summer camps for kids. We also offer programs in conjunction with our current exhibits, and programs for school groups.
