CVESD Coastal Education Program: Something’s Squidy (Grade 5)

Description

Students will learn about the internal and external parts that help a squid survive its ocean habitat. From three hearts to a reduced shell, the squid is a fascinating mollusk to scientifically study.

Living Coast Discovery Center

The Living Coast Discovery Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit zoo and aquarium located on the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Founded in 1987 as the Chula Vista Nature Interpretive Center, we have served the San Diego community for over 30 years. The Living Coast Discovery Center is home to many native San Diego species including sharks, fish, lizards, and birds of prey. Students will have the opportunity to visit our animal ambassadors and explore the Sweetwater Marsh through trail exploration.
