Creating Interactive Branching Narratives with Twine

Description

Infuse your students' next writing project with creativity and interactivity!

Twine is a free online tool used to create interactive branching narrative experiences, similar to "Choose Your Own Adventure" books, Netflix experiences like "Minecraft: Story Mode" or "Bandersnatch", or games like Telltale's "The Walking Dead", "Batman", and "Guardians of the Galaxy".

In this workshop, our instructors will demonstrate the power of Twine with pre-created experiences, then walk your students through the mechanics of using Twine, which involves easy-to-understand HTML coding. Our instructors will also give pointers of things to keep in mind when writing these types of experiences, as opposed to traditional prose texts.

Please note: This workshop requires internet-connected devices with access to twinery.org. Students can work on devices individually or in pairs.
