The Gowanus Canal has captivated people for more than 400 years, from its salt marsh era to a polluted industrial waterway in Brooklyn that today is undergoing clean up and revitalization. Gowanus Canal Conservancy (GCC) is dedicated to facilitating the development of a resilient, vibrant, open space network centered on the Gowanus Canal through activating and empowering community stewardship of the Gowanus Watershed. Since 2006, we have served as the environmental steward for the neighborhood through leading volunteer and youth stewardship; engaging students in environmental issues; and working to advocate for, build, and maintain innovative green infrastructure around the Gowanus Canal.

At this time masks are still required to be worn by all program participants due to the inability to social distance throughout our programs. We provide masks for anyone who may need.
