Stage craft, professional singing, wigs and makeup, costumes, fight choreography, and more! Explore the
world backstage at interactive stations created to provide hands-on learning opportunities. It’s a field
trip unlike any other and a wonderful way to introduce your students to career options in the arts. Backstage Workshops take place at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. One of Opera Colorado’s most popular programs, these workshops sell out quickly! (Cost: $10 student | $15 chaperone)

During a typical season, Opera Colorado’s Education & Community Engagement Programs reach more than 45,000 learners of all ages—both in the Denver metro area and throughout the state of Colorado. Our vibrant array of programming includes touring productions of classic operas, lectures and in-school workshops customized to practically any topic, field trips to the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in downtown Denver, and much more.
Each performance comes with free, downloadable lesson plans that align with Colorado Academic Standards. Opera Colorado offers both live and digital programs.
