Shawnee Town 1929 allows visitors to experience a typical day in and around the 1920s farm community of Shawnee, Kansas, through authentic collections, exhibits, programs and events. Our living history museum site offers multiple historic and recreated buildings and areas you can explore in our town (barber shop, jail, typewriter repair shop, grocery store, school, undertakers, garage, car dealership, bandstand) and on our farm (farmhouse, outhouse, chicken coop, barn, market shed, smokehouse, garage, working heirloom garden). Check our website for educational information on our many field trip options, traveling artifact and immigration trunks, and (coming soon) virtual tours! We frequently hold different classes, events, and concerts too! We look forward to your participation in one of the many exciting programs Shawnee Town 1929 has to offer.
