In this interdisciplinary field trip, students will explore the surprising connections between art, science, and culture. During a guided experience led by museum educators, students rotate through gallery tours, hands-on STEM activities, and a visit to the museum’s planetarium. From learning how artists use light and color to understanding how scientists study the universe, students will leave with a new appreciation for how creativity and inquiry go hand in hand.
The Children's Museum is Newark's largest museum and a dynamic destination for students to explore art, science, and culture. With a diverse permanent collection—including American art, decorative arts, African, and Asian collections—as well as interactive science exhibits and a planetarium, the museum offers immersive, interdisciplinary learning experiences. Students can engage with hands-on activities, explore cultural artifacts, and participate in docent-led tours that align with curriculum goals across multiple subject areas.
