A Malignant Tale: 1793 Yellow Fever Epidemic

Description

Explore the 1793 yellow fever epidemic through this program. Students will use letters from the APS archive to piece together the experience of a son whose mother caught the disease. The program promotes empathy, historical thinking, and gets a little messy!

The yellow fever program is available on a first-come-first-served basis. This program may be booked Monday through Friday, with a preference for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. If interested in expanding your visit to Old City, Historic Philadelphia, Inc has partnered with the APS on a similar program.
